LBJ Museum to Unveil New Lighted Sign

The Leadership San Marcos Class of 2013 community project for the LBJ Museum is set to fire up and dedicate a new lighted sign at 5 p.m. January 12th in front of the museum at 131 N. Guadalupe Street. The Leadership San Marcos Class selected to install the lighted sign as a community project to celebrate the museum dedicated in the memory of the former President Lyndon B. Johnson a former resident of San Marcos and student at Texas State University.
 
Russ Whitlock, Superintendent of the LBJ National Historic Park, allowed museum President Dr. Ed Mihalkanin and Jay Gordon of Blackout Signs & Metalwork, the sign designer and contractor, to select material from the LBJ Ranch at Stonewall to be incorporated into the new sign.
 
Representatives from the LBJ Museum Board, city government, the Main Street Program and the Arts Commission will speak at the event before the sign is unveiled and lit.
 
A celebration with refreshments will follow.
