The 23rd Annual LBJ Museum of San Marcos Ted Breihan Open Golf Tournament promises to be an exciting day filled with camaraderie, competition and a shared love for the game of golf. Hosted at the picturesque Kissing Tree Golf Club, the tournament will draw both seasoned golfers and enthusiastic amateurs, all eager to showcase their skills on the lush greens.

Participants can look forward to a fun-filled day beginning with a shotgun start at 8:00am. Throughout the day, golfers will have the opportunity to participate in various contests, including longest drive and closest-to-the-pin challenges, adding an extra layer of excitement to the event.

The tournament isn’t just about golf, it’s also a chance to support a great cause! All proceeds from the event will benefit the LBJ Museum of San Marcos, helping to preserve and promote the rich history and heritage of the region.

Ted Breihan was a distinguished community leader for several decades, serving on the museum’s board of directors from 2000 to 2014. A proud graduate of Southwest Texas State University in 1953, he was an active member of the San Marcos City Council from 1974 to 1980 and contributed to various local organizations, including the Southside Community Center, the Scheib Center and the United Methodist Church. The community mourned Mr. Breihan’s passing on November 17, 2021, at the age of 95. In recognition of his contributions, the LBJ Museum of San Marcos has named its annual golf tournament in his honor.
