Holiday Cheer at the LBJ Museum!
The annual holiday program at the LBJ Museum was filled with festive melodies and even a visit from Father Christmas!
San Marcos Mayor Jane Hughson officially opened the event by lighting the Christmas tree, followed by a delightful reading from Lady Bird Johnson’s journal.
Wayne Kraemer, the board president of the LBJ Museum, introduced A Capella Unlimited and shared insights into the Johnson family’s cherished Christmas traditions.
The award-winning singing group captivated the audience with their beautiful harmonies.
Ann Burnette read a diary entry from Lady Bird, dated December 24, 1966.
This passage reflected on the struggles of war while contrasting them with the joyful holiday spirit that awaited the Johnson family upon their return to the ranch.
Old Saint Nicholas concluded the evening with the beloved poem, Twas The Night Before Christmas.
